As an observer Peter Wehinger was involved in some of the early imaging and spectroscopy of quasar host galaxies. He has worked on high resolution coudé/echelle spectroscopy to determining isotopic abundances of Ti46-Ti50 in TiO bands in cool stars and of C12/C13 in comets. He has done imaging and long slit spectroscopy of the Crab Nebula and of molecular ions in plasma tails of comets, and of the sodium torus associated with Io and Jupiter. He is currently involved in fund raising, planning, and logistics for several telescopes of 6.5-m to 25-m aperture.
