for Advanced Study in
Astronomy and Astrophysics
2008 - 2011

Applications are solicited for the Bart J. Bok Fellowship in Astronomy and Astrophysics at Steward Observatory, University of Arizona. This Fellowship provides an opportunity for an exceptionally talented recent Ph.D. recipient to pursue a program of research in any area of theoretical or observational astronomy or astrophysics. The full facilities of the Observatory are available to the Fellow, who is encouraged to pursue both independent research and collaborative work with Observatory staff members.

The Bok Fellow will receive an annual stipend of $53,000 per year. In addition, a research fund is available to further the scientific program of the Fellow. This 3-year Fellowship commences in fall 2008.

Candidates must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. in Astronomy or a related field before the starting date of the Fellowship.

A complete application requires the following:

1) mailed submission of bibliography, CV, description of current and proposed research (5-page limit), and names/addresses of three references to:

2) letters of reference sent by mail from three persons familiar with the applicant's ability and potential to Bok Fellowship Committee

The deadline for receipt of all materials is November 16, 2007. No email submissions will be accepted.
